內生性蛋白質的產生及去除是處於平衡狀態，因此在穩定的環境條件下，其在細胞內的狀態一般是穩定的。然而，當於體外 (in vitro) 研究細胞時，蛋白質的降解作用會增強。為了防止蛋白質在這種情況下降解，可以利用小分子抑制劑混合物來阻斷蛋白酶的作用。

蛋白酶抑制劑混合物 (不含 EDTA) 包含多種廣泛蛋白酶的抑制劑混合物，用於保護蛋白質的完整性。此類產品可應用於 Western Blot、IP、Co-IP、pull-down、IF、IHC、Kinase 檢測等等。
